Breaking: First Batch Of Nigerians From Ukraine Arrives Abuja (DETAILS)


First batch of Nigerians moved out from Poland amid the Russia-Ukraine war on Friday, March 4 arrived Abuja, In nigeria.



They arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 7:11 a.m. on Friday via Max Air.

Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM boss, Abike Dabiri-Erewa made this announcement on her official Twitter page.



Although, she didn’t showcased the number of people that arrived, Dabiri-Erewa noted that plans continue towards the successful evacuation of the remaining stranded nigerian citizens.

Recalls that Federal Government had came in contact with Max Air and Air Peace to evacuate the stranded Nigerians who had been asked to go to neighbouring countries such as Poland, Hungary, Romania, amongst others.

A total of $8.5 million was approved for the exercise.



While Air Peace could not depart Nigeria as scheduled due to operational problems, Max Air flight left Abuja for Bucharest, on Thursday and it is now back with the first set of Nigerians evacuees.
